OOM - distraction Sherral

After a long shower and some serious sleep, Jay finds his way to room f(x,y). "I come bearing beer." Jay calls, knocking on Sherral's door. Barefoot and relaxed, he looks a hell of a lot better than he did last time Sherral saw him.

Sherral huffs out a short, slightly wry laugh at that second part.

"I, er - I would be amenable to doing it again, aye."

"Good. I'm glad." Jay steals a gentle kiss, playing with the fine hairs at the base of Sherral's skull. "Let me know if you want me to stop. I know not everyone likes this soft of thing after."

"The, er ... ? Aye, I'm not wholly used to it. But, er ..." Shay pauses, curling an arm around Jay. "It's nice."

"I take it this isn't something you do very often?" Jay asks, not teasing at all for once.

Wryly, and with just a touch of sarcasm: "What gave me away?"

Jay brushes a gentle thumb over Sherral's cheek, tracing the line of the blush. "The pretty colour you go. Although, I've got to say, it was damn hot when you ordered me onto my knees."

Sherral laughs, blushing a little darker. "You're trying to make me turn colours now."

"Maybe a little." Jay chuckles, still playing with Sherral's cheek. "But you're just so gorgeous when you do."

"Aye, and you're a flatterer," Sherral laughs.

[runningred]

"Only when I mean it." He steals a slow, deep kiss.

Sherral chuckles, curling his arm a little tighter around Jay and kissing back.

Jay moans softly into the kiss, very glad to be enjoying this gentle intimacy. He really does love just cuddling like this.

Sherral breaks the kiss eventually, tugging the covers over them a little.

Jay smiles warmly, taking that as a very good sign that Sherral wants him to stay. He tugs the blankets up and makes himself comfortably which is easy with Sherral in his arms.

Sherral is used to getting up before dawn, so - while he permits himself a little bit of a lie in - the dawn hasn't long started by the time he eases himself out of bed (taking as much care as he can not to wake Jay, although he doesn't know how successful he'll be).

There's a brief check around the kitchen to check on what he has in his cupboards - Sherral's no chef, but he can make waffles, so he's relieved enough to find he has flour, eggs, milk, butter and sugar - before he settles at the desk, takes a moment to reorganise his maps, and starts plotting routes.

When Jay wakes up, he'll stop, but in the meantime he may as well get some work done.

Jay sleeps in a bit, happily worn out. He opens his eyes and watches Sherral for a while. "Every the commander." He teases lightly, stretching slowly.

"Er, aye, well. I didn't want to wake you," Sherral says, a little sheepishly, putting the maps aside and wandering over to the bed, sitting down and pressing a quick kiss to Jay's shoulder.

Jay smiles and pulls Sherral into a slow kiss. "I don't think I've slept that well in a long time. Thanks for letting me stay."

Sherral kisses back, cupping Jay's cheek.

"It was, er, no problem. Stay any time you like."

Jay laughs and sits up slowly. "You should be careful who you make those kinds of offers to. You might end up with a grubby mechanic in your bed more often than not."

Cheerfully: "I would be amenable to this."

He pauses, pulling himself up into a standing position again. "I'm going to make us breakfast. Bar appears to have supplied me with a grill specifically for the purpose of making waffles, which seems a - rather narrow purpose, but useful today."

Jay chuckles but is quietly thoughtful. Part of him feels like he should point out he's not really good boyfriend material, or ask Sherral how serious he wants to make this but for now, waffles win out. "Clearly she's trying to tell you something. Want me to dash downstairs and grab us coffee and some fresh strawberries to go with them?"

"Er, aye, that actually does sound like a fairly good plan," Sherral grins. "I'll have tea, though. Not a big coffee drinker."

"No worries." He steals another kiss before finding his clothes and slips off to the bar.

When he comes back, Sherral has pulled on a pair of grey wool trousers, and is staring at the waffle machine with deep, intense, concentration.
