Jay opens his door and tossed the suitcase aside. Nothing in there that can't wait. For once, Jay's room is in immaculate order, clearly cleaned and packed up before he went away.

He shrugs off his shirt and waistcoat to reveal his heavily bandaged chest. There are boot prints bruised into his skin and deep cuts and shallow scratches. All and all, he's a mess.

"Thank you for this." He kicks off his shoes and sits on the edge of the bed.

Jay finds himself moaning softly, spreading his thighs ever so slightly in encourage that fingers lower.

"Wasn't trying to kill him. Had my wrist blade on. Single twitch and it would have been through his neck. Needed to slow him down, get him off me long enough I could go after the man I was there to kill. Didn't even know Dickie was there till he was tap-dancing on my chest."

Eric doesn't seem to notice any encouragement. He doesn't stop moving his fingers though.

"You can't go up against people if you're not willing to kill them. It makes you an easy target."

He shakes his head minutely, his eyes closed. "Only there to kill one. He's the only one who needs to die."

[onceaviking]

"You'll get him."

It's said softly. Almost - soothingly?
Maybe it's just what Eric would like to believe to hold true of his own endevour,

"As will you." Jay answers just as softly.

[onceaviking]

Eric's fingers still - and then they start moving again.
"Yes," he agrees. "Yes, I will."

And maybe he'll survive.

"How's your hand?"

[runningred]

He lifts his hand and flexes without looking at it. Then he touches each finger to his thumb in sequence. "Bones are mended. Some stiffness but that may be disuse. I've had it immobile for over a week."

Analytical and calm. There's still hazy there but he can push through if he needs to.

"Gunna miss some of the older scratches, especially the ones on my back. They were farewell presents."

"You could always get new ones," Eric suggests.
"As - I survived getting stomped on presents. Seeing as how people might find it difficult to get hold of a suitable card."

So dry.

[runningred]

He shakes his head, trying to follow Eric's wit and failing a little. "Day before the fight. Former lover, first lover actually. She knew, what I planned to do. Tried to get me to walk away." He manages a smile, "She made her point for living rather forcefully."

[onceaviking]

Eric murmurs something in Old Norse.

And then he runs his fingers through Jay's hair.
He likes hair. It's a bit short, but still...

"No idea what you just said but it sounded nice." Jay hums.

He's not a fan of it being so short either and it'll take a few washes to get the dye out of the white streak but he's still a complete slut for having it played with. He damn near purrs as Eric cards his hand through it, running his hands over Eric's thighs.

{ooc: hmm, 1.30 in the morning. I really should crash. Living this so much. Can't wait to pick it up tomorrow.}

"Just - old words," Eric murmurs.
"About how being alive is better than being dead."

Hávamal.

"Do you need more?"
Asking even though he is fairly certain that it isn't necessary. Not physically at least.
Still, for all his broken bones, those wounds may not be the worst.

"I like sound of that."

He breathes out slowly, checking himself over with small stretches and inching gestures, none of them taking him out of Eric's lap. "Don't think so. Feels like most of the damage is healed or healing. And considering the high this time, I'm not sure it would be a good idea."

[onceaviking]

A small shrug.

"I'll stick around till it wears off."

He shouldn't be offering this. He shouldn't be offering blood in the first place.
But he doesn't fucking care.

It's just doing Jay a favors he can call it in later.

Sure Eric, keep telling yourself that. Someone might believe it one day.

Jay nods, reaching for the now pointless bandages around his chest. "Care to join me in the shower. I have a feeling I could do with one."

Hot water will help clear his head and sooth out the last aches. And it's something he knows Eric enjoys.

"I can do that," Eric says, waiting for Jay to move off the bed.
"You should - be careful. The effects can linger a bit. At least they seem to do so at home."

Again, taking care to avoid broken faces.

Jay manages to get up with a reasonable degree of grace and dexterity. It might take all of his concentration but he manages it.

"I don't think you've given me that much before. Or I've been that fucked up when you did." Jay muses, getting rid of the rest of his clothes with only a minor wobble. "What does it usually do to people?"

[onceaviking]

"It depends," Eric says, as he gets up as well.
"Heightened senses, heightened sex drive, delusions, hallucinations. It depends on the person. And the blood. Mine's quite powerful."

He undresses as he speaks.
"Given in smaller doses over time it creates a bond, linking the human and the vampire, it doesn't take here though."

"Good thing too. I can think of at least two of us who would be dangerously attached to you by now otherwise." He means it as a joke but it may not come out that way.

He states the shower, bracing his hands on the cool tiles, letting the water rain down softly on him. "Heightened senses, heightened sex drive, delusions, hallucinations. I think I can tick off two of those at least."

Eric snorts but doesn't comment on it otherwise, because yeah - not really funny.

He steps under the spray and turns his face up, letting the water hit his face.
Then he turns his head. Little, to look at Jay.
"Which ones?"
He can make a reasonably educated guess.

Jay doesn't raise his head, still letting the water fall onto his back and shoulders. "Given that I can feel each and every drop of water and I'm hard as iron, I'm going to go with A and B. As for delusions, how would I know?" Expect he's pretty sure he's okay on that front.

[onceaviking]

"Some people find it - frightening, I guess. Being that sensitized," Eric remarks as he begins to wash.

[runningred]

"I don't know. It's... intense but not... I kinda like it." He turns and leans his back against the tiles, running a slow hand down his chest and abdomen.

He's not touching himself, not really. Just skin is enough for now.

[onceaviking]

"It's likely sensible people that shy away from it," Eric says, dryly.

And after a little while, he adds, "That is what it is like all the time. For us. Only more so."

Jay chuckles at that, turning his face up to the spray. "Sensible people. I've heard of those. Can't say I've met many."

He raises an eyebrow without opening his eyes. "How do you get anything done? In those first years, it must have been a constant distraction."
