Jay's room is large but simple. A big bed in one corner, a couch and TV in another. The rest of the room is workbenches and lockers except for a small kitchenette. The benches are covered in blueprints, sketches and tools. Small projects are set up on one side - a production line of small electrical components. There are a couple of closed doors off it, leading to other rooms.

Not that Jonathan will get much of a chance to look. Jay pushes him gently against the door and kisses him almost as soon as they're through it.

"Away or towards?" Jay jokes, working his way down to massage Jonathan's thighs and calves.

He laughs quietly.

"Both. Depends what it is and if I'm playing decoy that night."

"You must seriously trust the rest of your team?" There's a reason Jay mostly works alone.

[jonathanparagon]

Jonathan nods into the mattress.

"We couldn't do what we do if we didn't all trust each other."

[runningred]

Jay's silent a long moment.

"It's good, that you've got people."

[jonathanparagon]

Jonathan stills under his hands, then shifts to try and look at him.

"Far as it goes for me, I think so."

Jay's expression is a guarded but a little sad. He shrugs as Jonathan looks at him. "Been awhile since I worked with a team."

"If it's your own choice, if it works for you..." But he can see the sadness there. "Then it works for you."

Jay shrugs again and stretches out next to Jonathan, scratching his own chest just over one of the scars.

Jonathan rolls onto his side.

"You got somebody to patch you up, at least?"

[runningred]

"Mostly here." He shrugs, not really wanting to talk about it.

[jonathanparagon]

Jonathan isn't going to force the issue.

"Yeah, here's a good place for that. Between the magic healers and the tech the infirmary's got..."

[runningred]

"And a garage full of toys." Jay grins. "Hell, I don't leave the whole first year." Granted he was working through some shit but that's besides the point.

[jonathanparagon]

"Can't say I blame you", he says lightly. "Whatever you're into, there's enough to occupy anybody here if they let it."

[runningred]

"What are you into? Other than this?" He runs the tips of his fingers down the centre of Jonathan's chest, stopping short of the scar.

[jonathanparagon]

He follows Jay's trailing fingers with his eyes.

"Mostly magic. Some demonology just for the learning."

[runningred]

"Sounds heavy." He leaves his hand resting on Jonathan's chest, thumb tracing small arches.

[jonathanparagon]

"It can be. But in my world, demon's just a word for sentient not-human. It doesn't always mean they're evil."

The touches are pleasant, and he wouldn't dream of making Jay stop.

"You have good demons? What are they like?" His thumb still strokes, his own hard-on gone quietly soft.

[jonathanparagon]

That can be taken care of later. This doesn't seem the time for it.

"Most of the time, the peaceful ones, they just want to be left alone and they do the same things regular folks do. Go shopping, make a living... I know one runs a nightclub."

"Well, I guess I know a vampire who runs a nightclub. And a couple of Martians who manage one." He shrugs. The world is weird when you think about it.

[jonathanparagon]

"Martians?" He blinks. "They got stranded, or what?"

[runningred]

"More refugees than anything else. The sect they were born into practice pretty brutal eugenics and the twins were born with what their race saw as birth defects. A friend helped smuggle them to Earth. Now they manage a nightclub in Berlin."

[jonathanparagon]

Jonathan nods.

"Somebody protected them when they were babies?"

[runningred]

"Long enough to get them to help anyway." She died for it but Jay doesn't mention that. "They grew up as humans with a good family. Teenage rebellion like most adopted kids. That's how I got to know them."
