Jay's room is large but simple. A big bed in one corner, a couch and TV in another. The rest of the room is workbenches and lockers except for a small kitchenette. The benches are covered in blueprints, sketches and tools. Small projects are set up on one side - a production line of small electrical components. There are a couple of closed doors off it, leading to other rooms.

Not that Jonathan will get much of a chance to look. Jay pushes him gently against the door and kisses him almost as soon as they're through it.

"You have good demons? What are they like?" His thumb still strokes, his own hard-on gone quietly soft.

That can be taken care of later. This doesn't seem the time for it.

"Most of the time, the peaceful ones, they just want to be left alone and they do the same things regular folks do. Go shopping, make a living... I know one runs a nightclub."

"Well, I guess I know a vampire who runs a nightclub. And a couple of Martians who manage one." He shrugs. The world is weird when you think about it.

[jonathanparagon]

"Martians?" He blinks. "They got stranded, or what?"

[runningred]

"More refugees than anything else. The sect they were born into practice pretty brutal eugenics and the twins were born with what their race saw as birth defects. A friend helped smuggle them to Earth. Now they manage a nightclub in Berlin."

[jonathanparagon]

Jonathan nods.

"Somebody protected them when they were babies?"

[runningred]

"Long enough to get them to help anyway." She died for it but Jay doesn't mention that. "They grew up as humans with a good family. Teenage rebellion like most adopted kids. That's how I got to know them."

[jonathanparagon]

"You wouldn't know they were different to look at them, then?" he asks. "Angel used to work with a guy like that. Half-Brachen demon, but his mother didn't tell him until he hit puberty and more things changed than he was expecting."

[runningred]

"That's one of the 'birth defects' they were rejected for. Martians are shape shifters but the twins can't shift. When J'onn brought them to earth, he helped push them into human forms. They've known all their lives but their adopted family encouraged them to act and live as humans. All that hiding kinda got to them after a while."

[jonathanparagon]

"I guess it would", he agrees with sympathy. "Even if their adoptive family were only trying to protect them."

[runningred]

"I ended up helping the guy who brought them here find them when they ran away from home. J'onn figured I'd get that sort of rebellion."

Jay shrugs it off and rolls over, scratching a scar. "I should hit the shower." He figures this is kinda done.

It was Jay who moved it into massage and conversation, being undemanding, and Jonathan sits up and looks at him uncertainly.

"I can come with. If you want."

Jay smiles. "Yeah, I'd like that." He gets of the bed with a bounce and nods towards the bathroom.

It's an impressive bathroom, that's for sure. With a double size shower and rather large hot tub.

Jonathan's eyebrows go up as he steps into the room.

"Been a while since I saw a bathroom like this."

[runningred]

"Yeah," Jay laughs. "The Bar got indulgent with me."

[jonathanparagon]

"She does that", he agrees with affection, his gaze and attention settling back on Jay. "At least if she likes you, and she likes most people."

[runningred]

"Seems to." He nods, a little humbled by how kind the Bar has been to him.

He grabs a couple of towels from the linen press and turns on the shower. "Join me?"

Jonathan just nods and steps into the shower.

"One of these days you'll come in and find she's given you a sauna or something."

[runningred]

"Friend of mine ended up with a lava pool. But I suspect he asked for that."

He picks up a bottle of shower gel and offers to wash Jonathan's back.

[jonathanparagon]

"A lava pool?" he asks, amused, turning to offer his back. "For decoration, or is he able to swim in it?"

[runningred]

"No, he lounges in it. He has lounging down to an artform." He puts up where he left off, massaging lightly.

[jonathanparagon]

Jonathan leans back into his hands.

"So either I'm missing something and we're not talking actual lava, or he can take the heat."

[runningred]

"Thermal springs over lava. And yeah, he can take it."

He gently turns Jonathan around, washing his chest.

[jonathanparagon]

He's more than willing to be turned, and scoops up a handful of lather to return the favour.

"Thermal springs - the level humans can swim in - are always good."

Jay hums under the touch, firm muscles flexing slightly as he lets his eyes drift closed a moment.
