The view behind the door is one of desolation. Windswept and bleak. If there was ever vegetation here, it is long gone. The air is thin and cold, acrid with smoke. Jay reached into his belt and pulls out a small rebreather and goggles, offering a set to Gav.

Stock shudders on Jay's shoulder, making soft sounds of distress. "It's okay, darling. You're safe with us."

She doesn't answer at once, even as Jay leans out to stroke her. ~we will decide together. When all are warm~

Jay opens the door for them, feeling the cool rush of air from the bar.

"As it should be", he agrees, focusing on Stock. "And if you decide to stay in Milliways, that's okay too."

She ducks a nod and turns her back on the fallen city, heading thought the door.

Jay rests a hand on Gav's shoulder in thanks as they pass through the door. "We've got a lot to do."

"Anything I can do towards it", he says firmly, "you've got."

Jay nods. "I'll take you up on that. I'm going to need your help as a translator at least till I can get Stock upgraded."

He closes the door after them, blocking out the dusty air and makes for the garage. It's getting quite late by this point. "First step will be to get them all out of the foam and onto charging docks. From there, the rest can wait till tomorrow." Not that Jay will sleep tonight.

"Can you and Stock brain-storm some way to keep them all sleeping?"

He nods. "I could try something with wizardry, but I might need to be here to maintain it. Stock, any ideas?"

~I can change their power settings to keep them dormant until the time is right. It is... not permitted usually, to do to others but this is not usual. The young, I do not know what to do~

"For the young", Gavroche decides, "I'll get a tank. Reinforced glass, so they can't break it and get out. Just for now."

"Yeah, thanks. That would be good." Jay nods, unloading the bags onto one of his workbenches. "Do you mind taking a list of parts I need up to the bar while I get started? The rats have got trolleys for the big stuff."

Stock wakes the other four and explains in rapid bursts of data, the five of them huddling close in shared grief.

A moment later they are at Jay and Gav's side, ready to help.

"Right." He looks at the drones. "Who's coming with me to carry, and who's staying to help Jay?"

Stock gives quick orders, sending the twins with Gav and her own males to Jay.

Jay scribbles down a list of parts and hardware, giving just as quick orders to Lock and Barrel who seem to know him well enough to anticipate his needs.

Gavroche takes the list from him, all the way in practical mode.

"I'll just give this to Bar and bring back whatever she hands over."

"And anything else you can think of we might need. Just let her know it's on my tab, she'll sort out the rest." Jay's already clearing off benches and pushing lockers to one side to make more space.

He stops, realising how abrupt held being. Full practical mode too. "Thanks for this, Gav. You saved a lot of lives today."

"It's what I do", he says simply. "Just 'cause they're not flesh and blood, they're still life."

Jay rests a hand in Gav's shoulder, squeezing lightly. "You're a good man, Gav. Now let's get this started."
