Jay opens the door out into a very expensive hotel suite. "Let me just grab my own gear." He gestures towards the balcony and the view across the city.
Jay smiles and enjoys the shopping trip, trying to ignore his own tension at being in a space that puts him on guard. He's quick to offer to buy things for Sherral, easy and comfortable with money and carelessly generous.
Sherral lets Jay buy him a few things, but is quick to stop him from buying too much. He has no idea how much disposable income Jay has, and it would be improper to let himself be lavished with gifts beyond his ability to return the favour.
(Even if he knows that it would probably never occur to Jay that the favour should be returned.)
He makes sure not to dawdle too long in the market, too, and he's not hesitant about taking the lead and finding an exit for them eventually, out into the open air where he thinks that Jay will be more comfortable.
"I do believe you said something about a party," he says wryly once they're out.
Jay has more than enough income and would never think to ask anything in return. he likes to spoil his friends.
Jay grins, his body language shifting to something more relaxed outdoors. He nods towards the street. "We might have to jump a couple more buses if you're up for it?"
Jay picks a good building for it and climbs up to a height they can drop easily onto passing buses. He waits from the right one and gestures for Sherral to follow, landing on the smooth metal roof with ease.
Jay can't help but laugh. He loves this sort of thing, far too much. There's a thrill in walking the edge. They swap buses a couple of times, ending up in what appears to be progressively poorer area. Someone born to somewhere other than Gotham might find it intimidating as as the area gets less and less safe seeming.
Between two massive high-rise project buildings, comes the sound of music, the wild joy of kettle drums and laugher. Jay grins and nods that direction.
Sherral is adept enough at not showing his reactions that he doesn't appear surprised at all, although Jay might notice a few moments in which he becomes ever so slightly more stoic.
It passes as soon as it becomes obvious that Jay is acquainted with these people, and he offers the men a small smile.
Sherral catches the wink, and inclines his head at the men. He's not entirely sure his skills are up to whatever standards they may have, but if they ask him and Jay to, he'll certainly give it his best shot.
The men give them both another long look over. Not unfriendly and not particularity threateningly but with an edge of playful menacing. "Tag the flag before we do and we might just let you in."
He nods to a Union Jack flag hanging from a pole some two blocks away and quite a long way up the tall building.
Jay gives Sherral another quick smile and eyebrow raised. Jay might be the better flyer but that's only half the game being offered. The other half is getting between these guys and the flag. And he knows how good Sherral's defence is.
"Let me just confer with my partner here." Jay steps over to Sherral, throwing his arm around Sherral's shoulder, lowering his voice conspiratorially. "Up for a bit of fun?"
As soon as Jay is off, Sherral is moving as well, into the path of whichever of the men is furthest forward, then throwing out an arm to force the other to swerve out of the way.
Jay doesn't look back as he flips himself over the rail and throws a line to the building opposite.
The first man pulls up sharp and tries to change direction as the other one leaps over Sherral's arm in a somersault, still running at Jay. "Your boyfriend's got some cute moves. I'll try not to bruise him to bad."
Sherral laughs, moving with the man. He's fast and light on his feet, so he manages to keep up with the man's darting, always getting into his path just before he can make any progress.
"You're good, pretty boy." The man grins and charges at Sherral, ducking low with the intention of grabbing him around the legs and throwing Sherral over his shoulder.
From high above, Jay whoops loudly and throws the flag down to Sherral.

Jay chuckles, and doesn't flinch. "Hey guys, I heard there was a party going on. Mind if we crash?"

"I run. My friend here is learning." Jay grins, rising to the subtly implied challenge. "You want us to prove our skills?" He winks to Sherral.
