Jay opens the door into a hotel room. And a rather expensive one at that. With a spectacular view of the city at night, all lights and sprawl. Jay chuckles. "Okay, so it might have to be dinner. I forgot it was night when I left here."
He tosses his bag on the bed and picks up a leather jacket. "Shall we?"

He leads her through a plush lobby, ignoring the doorman's offer to hail them a cab. This section of the city is quite and wealthy but it's only a couple of blocks stroll to busier, louder streets. The real city.

He leads her a couple of blocks towards where the street stalls are, the smell of frying meat, noodles and spices fill the air. "This looks good. What do you feel like?"

A moment later they're presented with a thick soup with dumplings and several bowls of sauce and flavourings.

Much cheaper than eating in a restaurant, too! Bonnie takes a seat and sniffs the various bowls.
"I shoulda brought Billie, she'd be all over this."

He grins, "Happy to bring her any time." He slurps his noodles happily, adding a little more chilli to his broth.
Two foreigners attracts a bit of attention and Bonnie may here the word laowai being muttered around them. Not generally rudely but muttered never the less.

His head swings around at the sound of explosions from the other end of the street. Fireworks, as it turns out. A troop of dragon dancers come up the street, banging drums and cymbals. It takes Jay a moment to relax but he does.
