Ragnar squeezes back, smiles gratefully at Jay, and then turns his eyes back to Athelstan with that expression he sometimes has, as if Athelstan hung the moon.

"Go, get out of here, you two." Jay shoos them out. "I'll see you around."

"Soon", Athelstan promises, heading for the door with Ragnar in literal tow.

Ragnar follows, not even thinking of letting go of Athelstan's hand.

They quickly reach their own rooms, seeing no one on the way.

Ragnar opens the door, and pulls Athelstan inside.

He needs closeness now, and kisses.

Athelstan seems to want both just as much. He presses close against Ragnar, looking up at him as the door shuts.

Ragnar wraps his arms around him, strong and warm and tight, and then bends his head to lovingly kiss Athelstan's lips.

Nit even looking around, he casually kicks the door shut.

"I can feel your heartbeat in both ways", Athelstan murmurs against his lips.

"And I, yours," Ragnar says, deepening the kiss.

His heartbeat is strong and steady.

Athelstan's isn't as strong, but steady right now - or it was, until Ragnar kissed him that way. His lips part to allow it.

Ragnar chuckles softly to feel that reaction, and slides his tongue between Athelstan's lips. The movements of his lips are tender and languid now.

It might be having felt the closeness to death caused by Jay implanting the device, or feeling Ragnar's heart beating next to his, but Athelstan feels very alive right now. And for the time being, until the fog settles again, he feels present.

He returns Ragnar's kiss.

"You taste so very lively," Ragnar murmurs into the kiss.

One of his hands comes up to cradle the back of Athelstan's neck.

"I feel it", he murmurs back, pressing up against Ragnar, "and we should enjoy it while it lasts."

"We will," Ragnar says, running his other hand slowly up and down Athelstan's back as they kiss.

Because it's Ragnar, he doesn't stiffen at the touch to his back, especially through cloth. As the kiss continues, he begins to tug Ragnar's shirt free to allow his hands to roam.

Ragnar can't suppress a pleased, purring moan as Athelstan's hand touches his skin. Now, his heartbeat speeds up a little.

"Off", Athelstan murmurs, pulling back from the kiss to explore Ragnar's jaw and neck instead.

Ragnar tips back his head and quickly take off his belt so Athelstan can explore all he wants.

He's finding it difficult, with the difference in their heights, so without moving away too much, he leads Ragnar towards the bed.

Ragnar steps backwards towards the bed, pulling Athelstan along as he is being led, and manages to struggle out of his shirt as that happens.

It tangles around Athelstan's feet, but he kicks it away as they fall onto the bed, Ragnar first.

He crawls up to lie half on Ragnar and pick up where he left off, his mouth settling in the hollow of Ragnar's collarbone.

Ragnar puts an arm around Athelstan and pulls him closer, tipping back his head again and closing his eyes as another purring moan escapes him.

Athestan murmurs Ragnar's name against his skin, his lips and tongue tracing it as he feels it growing warmer.
