"Oh my god," he mumbles under his breath. He recognizes the handwritten notations in pencil as Herman's. Unmistakable.
He then realizes that he's staring silently at it for too long. And he clears his throat.
"It's-- it's just astonishing that this music still survived," he says.
Did Herman survive? The question strikes him hard. Seeing this now, he has to make sure that he does survive. One way or another.
